Bhuvan Unhelkar (BE, MDBA, MSc, PhD; FACS) has more than two decades of strategic as well as hands-on professional experience in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) industry. As a Founder of MethodScience.com he has notable practical consulting and training expertise in business analysis (use cases, BPMN) software engineering (object modelling, Agile processes and quality), enterprise architecture (including SOA), project management, collaborative web services, Green IT (environment) and mobile business. His domain experience includes banking, financial, insurance, government as well as telecommunication organizations wherein he has created industry-specific process maps, quality strategies and business transformation approaches. This experience also business transformation and change management projects for three organizations over the last two years. He has recently published two Cutter executive reports: Business Transformation and Agile in Practice (CAMS). He has also regularly imparted industrial training and workshops to up-skill business analysts and technical staff. He is also the author of Australian Institute of Business Analysis (AIBA)’s competency standards.
His training courses, through MethodScience, have been delivered to business executives and IT professionals globally (in Australia, USA, Canada, UK, China, India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Singapore). These courses have been consistently ranked highly by the participants.
Dr. Unhelkar earned his Doctorate in the area of “object orientation” from the University of Technology, Sydney, in 1997. Subsequently he designed and delivered course units like Global Information Systems, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Business Process Reengineering and IT Project Management in the industry as well as across Universities in Australia, China and India. He lead the Mobile Internet Research and Applications Group (MIRAG) at the University of Western Sydney, where he is also an adjunct Associate Professor. He has authored/edited fifteen books in the areas of collaborative business, globalization, mobile business, software quality, business analysis/processes, the UML and Green ICT, and has extensively presented and published papers and case studies. His current industrial research interests include application of emerging technologies to Enterprise Architectures, Business Analysis in the context of Agile, Smart Sourcing, and Environmentally Responsible Business Strategies. He is currently authoring (with Taylor and Francis, 2010/11) The Art of Practicing Agile : Applying Composite Agile Method and Strategy to Real Projects and Green IT: Strategies and Applications
Dr. Unhelkar is a sought-after orator, a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society (elected to this prestigious membership grade in 2002 for distinguished contribution to the field of information and communications technology), Life member of Computer Society of India, Rotarian at St.Ives (Paul Harris Fellow), Discovery volunteer at NSW parks and wildlife, and a previous TiE Mentor.
